AB OBJECTIVE: The absence of any information about sexual behaviour
homo/bisexuals and STD patients in our country doesn't permit to realise
different educational programmes on AIDS prevention and to project the
numbers of HIV-infected persons. METHODS: 52 volunteers among
homo/bisexuals from NGO Ganimed and 130 STD patients were interviewed
anonymously on several aspects of their sexual behaviour. RESULTS: 44.2%
of homo/bisexual and 23.8% of STD patients have begun their sexual
practices at the age of 13-15. 46.1% of gays and 10.7% of STD patients
had more than 10 sex partners during the previous 12 months. 90% of
homosexuals and 10% of STD patients had sex with foreigners. More than
80% of gays and about 66% of STD patients had multiple sexual contacts
during their missions and travels abroad. According to above 73.1% and
25% of our interviewed persons use group sexual practices. Only 3% of
STD patients and 5% of gays always use condoms. CONCLUSIONS:
Homo/bisexual and STD patients due to their low sexual behaviour level
may become in perspective one of the group with high HIV/AIDS
prevalence.
